The other day I checked out a stack of books from the library. The librarian said sorry we do not have any book bags. So I thought it would be cool to make them some ugly ones in the fibers class. So this way we can rid the studio of failed art projects and help people carry their books.
Brant has degrees from the University of Montana (BFA) and the University of Wyoming. (MFA). Brant grew up on the western Plains Indian reservations where the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Indian Public Health employed her family. She has lived and worked in Montana, Wyoming, London, U.K. and Missouri. Since 1999 she has taught studio art at Florida International University. She was awarded the South Florida Cultural Consortium for Visual and Media Arts in 2003 and is currently an associate professor at Florida International University.
